Halley’s Comet Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus Undatus)
Halley’s Comet Dragon Fruit is a striking climbing perennial cactus which bears a fruit with a good sweet flavor, with a dark pink inside that is edible and high in antioxidants. The fruit resembles a giant (up to 5 inches) pink egg covered large green, pointed “scales”, giving it it’s unique name. The large, white, fragrant flowers appear only at night between late spring and early fall and is self pollinating.
Comfrey Bocking #4 (Symphytum x Uplandicum)
Comfrey is an incredibly useful permaculture plant. Because of its deep roots, it is quite drought resistant, it breaks up the soil and brings nutrients deep in the soil, that have been lost to most plants to the surface. Its leaves are higher in protein than soybeans and is liked well by many animals. It also makes an excellent green manure with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium levels that exceed or rival many animal manures. It is fast growing and can produce up to 100 tons of biomass per acre.
For a limited time Bingham’s Branch is offering pastured, non-GMO, antibiotic free Cornish Rock Cross broilers. By purchasing in bulk and in advance we can offer a significant discount that brings the price down to about $4.50/lb., a very competitive offer for the high quality pastured chickens we raise.
A 'Full Share' is 20 broilers over 20 weeks, a 'Half Share' is 10 broilers over 20 weeks and a 'Short Share' is 10 broilers over 10 weeks.
Chickens are processed on farm and are frozen unless special arrangements are made. Dressed weight averages 4.5 lbs each. Pick up is on Saturdays at our North Lakeland location. Shares are limited.
We are a small farm and this test run will determine whether we can continue to offer pastured poultry in the future. If you know anyone that might be interested please share with them. We would be willing to provide a drop off service if enough people in a geographic area purchase shares.
